2nd..bit more detail..

An example of a
 'Closer' magazine I analysed today
Okay maybe I do know what to write, considering this is being made in a Media Studies lesson! We've been doing our AS levels for about a week now and Media is one of the best choices so far!

We've been analysing magazine covers. In the lesson today we looked at a 'Closer' magazine cover and used the 'Mcmahon and Quinn' technique to identify different codes of the magazine cover and why they have been used. This technique splits the sections up so you can analyse and explain why the technical, written and symbolic codes have been used.

This magazine cover for example can be analysed using the McMahon and Quinn technique.
The masthead of the magazine is placed under the main headline, suggesting the article is more important that the name of the magazine. Also the colours are bright and eyecatching which is appealing to the target audience and catches the readers attention, causing them to buy it.
