Camera shots I have used for my pictures

The images below are the photos that i took in my photo shoot yesterday. I picked the shots carefully and thought about how they would look like on my magazine. Even though the images may not appear on my final draft of my magazine, I still had to take the photo's like they would look. For example, the picture of the three girls posing in front of the black/blue wall (below) is a mid shot. I used this shot because it shows the majority of the girls, which makes them recognisable and also gives them a setting so that it looks more like a posed shot.

Another example of a photo that I used an appropriate shot for is the one of the girl (wearing the leopard print top) behind a table doing a 'book signing'. This is also a mid-shot and lets the viewer see what is going on in the picture rather than just a close up of her face, which especially in a magazine, doesn't show the reader much. Another reason why I used this shot, is because if i was to go any wider, it would show unnecessary space that doesn't need to be included in the picture.

Overall, I think that I chose the camera shots carefully when taking my photos. I imagined how it would look on my magazine, and that helped me to decide the best shots to use.

Music magazine- 2nd photoshoot pictures

For this week, i have done another photo shoot using different models. The effect of this will be varied people to make the magazine more realistic.

The pictures of the girl band dont always need instruments or microphones to show they're musicians, this is because to the audience they are well known recognisable celebrities. This is an obvious posed shot but the article that will be in my magazine will mention that the girls have been to a photo shot and book signing for their 'new book' so the pictures will go well with the story.

Although this picture would of been good for my magazine, i havent put it in because i have found another one that suits the genre better.

This will be a picture in the magazine that shows a member of the girl band with a fan. I will photoshop the shadows out of the picture to make it look more professional. I did not use this picture either, this is because it didn't say much about the magazine, it was just two people standing next to each other.

This picture of the celebrity musician at a book signing is effective because its different and is a natural shot which hasn't been posed. I have chosen this angle because it shows what the girl is doing. It will go well with the article because the girl band has 'released a book about their music' and the celebrities have signed them.

The photo of 2 of the other girls in the girl band, this picture will show them doing a photo shoot. This photo will need to be cropped and the lighting edited to take the shadows out. By taking the shadow out it makes the picture look better quality and flawless to put in a magazine.

I used adobe photoshop and took the spots and bruises that was on the girls arms and faces to make them look more airbrushed and professional. This photo was used on my front page and was captioned with 'See what happened when Girls Are Loud turned up to their book signing in London!'.

These are the picture that i considered putting in my magazine but didnt. I did have a go at editing a few of them, such as the second one, and the fourth one, but i found that other pictures that are later on in my blog suited the magazine better.
